Finally Upgrading

Finally Upgrading

Finally upgrading to SW 2013 from 2009. What big improvements has SolidWorks added over the last 5 years? I'm looking forward to being able to apply multiple materials to solid bodies. That will allow us to better calculate center of mass. Anything else stand out as a significant improvement or a cool new feature?

Thanks

RE: Finally Upgrading

One cool new feature that I noticed today is the section view tool in drawings. That one didn't get any talk time during the roll outs, but it looks a lot more intuitive.

Now you can just rub your mouse over a paper sketch and SolidWorks will auto-magic-ally make a part for you..!

Not really...

Upgraded last weekend and I'm finding that out. Many new improvements. Liking the costing feature. Have not dug into that yet but I think it will help speed up quote process. Anyone know of a tutorial on the costing feature? Also like the large design review. Again have not dug into it but looks like our assembly guys can use that to build from. Really like that mirror in an assembly is a feature now and parts stay "mated"/linked to the seed. That seemed to never work right in past versions. I'm sure I'll find more as the weeks go on.

@TateJ - I just had to look up C8H10N4O2. Too funny. Rental bowling shoes? LOL
