3 phase separator

3 phase separator

3 phase separator

(OP)
good day all.

so i have a separator with ID=42 inch and length=16feet.
so this separator wiil be used for separate 30MMscfd gas.
so we think to make the nozzle ID bigger.
Will this design work for that 30MMscfd flow?.
thx for any input for me.

RE: 3 phase separator

What pressure? What temperature? What SG is the Gas? What SG is the water? What API is the oil? How much oil? How much water? Is the vessel horizontal or vertical? What nozzle size has been proposed? What is the elevation at the site? You are missing a few numbers here.

I usually open attachments before commenting, this morning I got in a rush. Sorry about that.

Basically it seems that the OP is looking for a sanction to change the safety factors in his black box spreadsheet. I can't help with that, maybe someone else can.

RE: 3 phase separator

The bigger nozzle ID (gas outlet) won't cause trouble for your gas flow. I believe the only problem is to have an overdimensioned material. According to your table you must have a minimum of 7.34 in for the gas outlet ID. Anything much greater than that will only make the construction more expensive (lose money!), but don't affect the process.

sory just reply having trouble with internet connection for 2 days.

@23562 : thx sir.i will read that reference u gave.thx

@zdas04 : its okay sir.anyinput i would appriciate it.thx

@leochem : we pick that ID(10inch) just to make sure for overflow.bcoz from the info we got 30MMscfd is not peak flow.and not include we dont have water flow information from customer.we just assume the flow is 250.thx for ur input realy appriciate it.
