LsDyna - Nodal Moments

LsDyna - Nodal Moments

Dear all,

Can you please tell me if it is possible to output nodal moments in LS Dyna? I made a set of nodes, and with NODAL FORCE GROUP I can get the forces on those nodes. But I also need the nodal moments.

Regards,

Bilim

Hi Drej,

I have beam elements.

RE: LsDyna - Nodal Moments

Hey,

You have to use database_history_node_id/set for this. nodal_force_group will only output the forces and not moments.

Hi missil3,

I will try and let you know. Thanks :)

I have tried using database_history_node_id, and now in ascii I have "nodout" output file for that specific node, but moment is not one of the variables listed. I still can't get the nodal moments. Are they supposed to be stored in "nodout"or another file?

RE: LsDyna - Nodal Moments

Sorry about that, rechecked the nodout output and it only outputs deflections.

Can you not make a cross section at locations where you want the moment info and use secforc database to get them ? Or you can ask in the LSDyna yahoo user group (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/LS-DYNA/) . There's not a lot of dyna users here.

Hi again,

I will try both of your suggestions, both the secforc and the yahoo group.

Thanks,

Bilim
