Can I auto dimension in NX 8.5?

Can I auto dimension in NX 8.5?

Can I auto dimension in NX 8.5?

(OP)
I work for a small mold comapany in Ohio. I called my sales rep Douglas Gudorf and he was checking into it. He was telling me I could drag and drop icons on my assemblies and it could do some auto dimensioning.

Please advise.....

RE: Can I auto dimension in NX 8.5?

Models which were created using sketches can inherit their Sketch Dimensions onto Drawings. Also, features, such as Clearance and Threaded Holes, can also be dimensioned 'automatically' by extracting the relevant specification info and placing it on a Drawing as annotation referencing the feature.

Also, while creating a Sketch (starting with NX 7.5), you can optionally created Sketch dimensions automatically as curves are added to the Sketch profile.

RE: Can I auto dimension in NX 8.5?

Hi Jackmarbles,
Could you please furnish some more detail for the information sought?
In case you are refering to auto dimensioning in drafting then as John elaborated the annotations can be pulled in ....in variety of ways.Apart from this Drafting Automation (dfa code driven)too can be used for some auto-dimensioning of views in Drafting.
In case your question is about Modeling (which i presume from drag and drop icons on my assemblies )then some smart features like NEW SHORTCUT TOOLBAR (context driven) are there in NX8.5 which intuitively gives you options relevant to the feature selected.
Thanks and Best Regards
