Open-Erp Capabilities for Engineering Configuration Control/Solidworks file management

Open-Erp Capabilities for Engineering Configuration Control/Solidworks file management

(OP)
Hi,

I’m looking for some advice specifically regarding Open-Erp and it’s capabilities with regard to Engineering Configuration Control/Solidworks file management and Warehouse stock management. I currently use Solidworks without PDMworks which isn’t ideal.
I’ve read through some threads but none that I’ve found fully answer the above. Apologies if this post is in the wrong forum (I've also posted in Engineering Configuration Management forum).

Background: I work remotely for a small company which uses Open-Erp for traceability of various Sales, HR documents and work activity etc and are looking at controlling the Engineering Design/Documentation and Warehouse stock side of things. The company’s idea/hope is Open-Erp will be capable of managing these without having to purchase extra software packages.

Is it possible to use Open-Erp to manage Solidworks files, track/create typical Engineering documents and new numbers for various documents/Engineering part Numbers such as Engineering Release Notes/Engineering Change Notes/Drawing Numbers for Solidworks etc. and manage Warehouse stock?
If not are there any free/cheap software packages that can bolt onto Open-Erp and do the job?

From first viewing Open-Erp seems more geared to Sales/Customer Relationship rather than the Engineering Configuration Control/ Design/CAD side of things.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as it seems a bit of a mine field!

Many Thanks
