The top setting on my Assembly Load
The top setting on my Assembly Load
(OP)
The top setting on my Assembly Load Options is set to As Saved
I opened up the assembly and the parts are not located where they were saved, so they were not loaded.
Is there a way to find the "saved" location of the file in an assembly that was not loaded ?
I am on NX7.5

RE: The top setting on my Assembly Load
Information - Assemblies - List Components, it will list the original path where your file saved.

Actually it will show the unloaded component part saved path also, I tried by deleting some of the components from the existing assembly.

If you are looking for the current location of the parts, I'd suggest using a desktop search tool.
A few years ago, I wrote a script that used ugpc to list the as saved assembly location. If the file did not exist there it would search through some user defined directories; if/when the part was found it used ug_edit_part_names to update the assembly to point to the correct component part file location. Perhaps I should put this in my queue of "projects to develop further".

RE: The top setting on my Assembly Load
We recently switched to WINDOWS7 and the search tool is terrible on there.
RE: The top setting on my Assembly Load
Initially, I hated it; still don't like it, but it is growing on me bit by bit. At least they provide a link to start the "search companion" which will open an XP style search window.

RE: The top setting on my Assembly Load
I just opened an assembly with the "structure only" option and tried out vrishraj's suggestion. If I scroll all the way to the right in the resulting information window, there is a "directory" column that lists the component's directory. I have a few in my list that are empty and when I try to load the component, it cannot be found with my current load options.

...this is what I get as a result:
Note that this was done using NX 7.5, but I've also checked NX 8.5 and nothing has changed.
