Predictive Low Temperature DX Ammonia Refrigeration Feed Control

Predictive Low Temperature DX Ammonia Refrigeration Feed Control

Predictive Low Temperature DX Ammonia Refrigeration Feed Control

(OP)
This is meant for "virk" who asked about a low temperature DX ammonia application on October 7th. A new DX control system accurately predicts evaporator liquid feed requirements based on refrigerant vapor quality measured within the evaporator. The technology is called Predictive Direct Expansion (PDX). Full evaporator surface is utilized. No superheat, overfeeding, or flooding. Feed control modulation is stable and accurate regardless of load. Several major manufacturers are building PDX equipment for a large number of ammonia refrigeration systems going in. I do not know if it is appropriate to recommend specific suppliers on this site for your project, but can do so separately if requested.
