Scaling of a Normalized or Heat Treated Part

Scaling of a Normalized or Heat Treated Part

(OP)
All,

I was curious if anyone knows if ANSYS workbench can be used to simulate scaling parts that are going through a normalization or annealing cycle. I know normal simulation will allow for distrotion of the part and shrink of the part but does that also take into consideration the scaling that occurs?

Thank you,
Mike

RE: Scaling of a Normalized or Heat Treated Part

Are you trying to model the rate of carbon buildup on the surface? Sounds tricky. If you know enough about the physics behind it, I'm sure that you could come up with some sort of model in ANSYS APDL. Might be pushing the limits of Workbench, though. Out of my area of expertise, though.
