Turning text into shapes and not fonts

Turning text into shapes and not fonts

Turning text into shapes and not fonts

(OP)
I am currently using draftsight to design resistors. Once the design is completed, I send them to a company that etches them on top of a poly material.
I recently moved from using CAMtastic to draftsight to do all of this, and when I sent them my file from draftsight, the text didnt show up at all when they went to etch it.
They responded saying that my text needs to be converted to shapes instead of fonts, that way it will be etched as well.

any idea of how to do this?

RE: Turning text into shapes and not fonts

Did You try to select the text and type TXTEXP and then hit enter?

I tird using the txtexp command, and all I get is "unrecognized command txtexp."

RE: Turning text into shapes and not fonts

I don't know what could be the problem.

I have a V1R3 version installed.

I have found on this blog that there is also EXPLODETEXT command. It also works for me.
