Create centre line of formed hose

Create centre line of formed hose

Create centre line of formed hose

(OP)
Hi,

Can anyone help, i'm trying to create a centre line from an imported hose from another cad system, I need to measure the overall length of curved hose.

Does anybody know if this can be done & if so how?

Thanks

RE: Create centre line of formed hose

Try offsetting the surfaces of the hose to a value which is approx 0.1mm less than the radius of the hose. Now run an iso curve curve along each of the offset surfaces.
Measure the total length of the curves.
Not 100% accurate but probably good enough.
