Large vertical pump installation
Large vertical pump installation
(OP)
To install a large vertical 12,000 kg pump / motor on a concrete pedestal, what is a typical installation procedure from installing the rebar, casting the plinth, cure time levelling, screeding etc?
What are the key factors in a successful and vibration free installation?
The pump has a 700mm inlet and outlet, the inlet being vertical has a 90 degree duckfoot bend which is to be located beneath the two individual concrete plinths to keep the pump height as low as possible.
Pump info in this case: speed is 690 RPM and delivers 1571 litres / second at 19.4m head with a motor size of 500 kW.
Best Regards
John

As for the pump installation, from the drawing provided in your earlier thread, the pump is a large pump. You should follow the manufacturer's recommendation to avoid any argument in case of a warranty issue crops up later.
The basic things to look out for are leveling, pipe strain and coupling alignment.
