Measuring the radius on a section of cable routing

Measuring the radius on a section of cable routing

Measuring the radius on a section of cable routing

(OP)
Hello,

Does anyone happen to know how to measure the bend radius on a section of routing? I'm currently using the mechanical routing module to route some cables. Since I can't seem to control the minimum bend radius, I have to use the Analysis->Minimum Radius tool and change the control points iteratively in order to meet my minimum requirements.

Is there a way to measure the bend radius on a section of that overall routing to see if I meet the preferred radius vs. the minimum at those routing spans?

Thanks for any help. I'm using NX6, by the way.

RE: Measuring the radius on a section of cable routing

Try out Analysis -> Geometric properties... use the dynamic option and turn on the "point on curve" snap tool. With this command, you can run your cursor along the curve and it will report the radius of curvature at that point, it dynamically updates as you move the cursor.

But, I'm not 100% sure it is in NX6...
