Journal: inserting string in component name

Journal: inserting string in component name

Journal: inserting string in component name

(OP)
I am at a dead end as far as inserting "rev" into a new component name.
The journal is suppose to create a new component with the same name as the workpart except with "rev" placed inside the workpart name.
This may seem like a small tedious task but we do this anywhere from 30-70 times a job and this becomes very arid quickly.

The only way I would see this to work is the workpart file has
"Job_partname", and in the directory it goes
Job->Cad->DateOpened->Assembly
I would like it to be
"job_rev_partname"
Bonus if you know of a way to move the new component and move it up a level in the assembly, so that it is on the same level as the workpart, and to link the workpart, to the new Rev of the workpart.
I would greatly appreciate any input someone has to offer. Thanks in advanced.
