Small Air Valve

Small Air Valve

Small Air Valve

(OP)
Im looking for a air valve that will sound an air horn. The area I have to work with is very small 14x30mm. What type of small valves will work in this size constraint?

RE: Small Air Valve

Depending on the pressure available and the type of horn, manual or motorized valve. If available pressure is higher, you could go down on diameter and actual bore of valve. If source is above 2 bar and below 10 bar, you should be able to find solenoid valves with a varity of current/voltage solenoids within your specifications, and actual boring could possibly go down to, say 1 mm (??? you will have to test).
Check for instance Norgren, SMC, and number of others.

I will be needing a mechanical valve 1-2 bar max restricting from 4-5 bar. The entire valve size needs to be 14x30mm max. What's on my mind right now is a schreader valve with a manual release. I'm looking for other options on small overall size valves I could look into.

Again the entire size the complete valve can be is appx 14x30mm in a cylinder chamber.

Thanks for the ideas!

RE: Small Air Valve

Clarify for me -- the entire valve, including the solenoid and room to connect tubing, needs to fit in that small cylinder?

Best to you,

RE: Small Air Valve

I have a bar that I will cap the ends and pressurize it. The bar is 1' in length and the Inside Diameter is appx 14mm. So within that space I need to find a valve that will let the high pressure air into a chamber with the horn at a restricted rate.

As per solenoid I'm not sure, if I use a manual valve do I need one? I was thinking of a thumb lever on the end outside the bar that would link to the valve inside the bar and release air.
