View scale label decimal places

View scale label decimal places

(OP)
I have a view scaled at 3:2, when using the Nx style it shows 1.500x. I'd like this to read 1.5x, but I can find no way in the preferences to control the number of decimal places displayed. I've also been trying the formatting functions that can be used with expressions and other attributes (such as %0.2f), but so far have had no luck.

Suggestions?

I can't find any way to do this either.

Yes, just as long as you remember that if you ever edit the scale of the view itself, this 'manually' defined 'scale' will be lost and it will revert back to the automatic label.

I can create an expression myscale = 1.5 (in my case), drive the view scale from that expression, and finally change the view label to custom text referencing this expression with the format (number of decimal places) that I wish to see. It all updates as it should when I change the expression driving the view scale.

mounts soapbox

Why are you using a non-standard scale like 1.5x?

View scales for english dimensioned parts shoould be: 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, etc.
View scales for metric dimensioned parts should be: 1, 2, 5, 10,20, etc.
