New CBT Question

New CBT Question

New CBT Question

(OP)
I'm a new sprinkler designer with 2 years experience designing systems. I also have 5 years experience fitting (moved into the office just after acquiring my journeyman ticket). I am now planning to get NICET Certification.

I would like to take on levels I~III the same time. I am located in Newfoundland, Canada and the nearest Pearson-View Testing Centre is in Montreal.

What I'm wondering,

1. Can I do the 3 levels at once?
2. Would it be possible to do them in one day, or even 2 consecutive days?

I find the "Eligibility Windows" are a bit confusing and I don't want to screw up the application.

If someone could put in a nutshell, the procedure for the application to achieve a level III from scratch would be great!

RE: New CBT Question

Time allowed on each test are as follows:
Level I: 2 hours 15 min.
Level II: 3 hours 45 min.
Level IIIa: 2 hours 45 min.
Level IIIb: 3 hours 45 min.

It isn't possible to do those tests in one day since your testing center probably won't be open for 10+ hours. You could do it in 2 consecutive days though if your testing center has enough opening available to do it.

Eligibility Windows are just the 3 month time period that you would like to schedule your test. You just have to mail in your application prior to the specified postmark date to be eligible for that window.

Submit your application and fees for all of the tests you would like to take and specify the Window in which you would like to take the tests. Once NICET has accepted your application, they will send you an email with a link to the PearsonVue scheduling website. Set up a user name and password and from that website you can schedule the days and times of your tests. Also submit the work experience packet and fees found on the NICET website for levels 1-3.

Currently, you do not satisfy the work experience for a Level III. You have 2 years of design experience and the 5 years of fitting experience only counts for 1 year toward your design experience. Therefore, you have a total of 3 years experience. For a NICET Level III you need 5 years.
