Measure tool - use with caution

(OP)
In the new 2013 SP 0, Measure tool (tape ruler icon) has an option to measure point to point, minimum between circles and project on plane.
I have just discovered, that if the perpendicular from cylinder center does not overlap the face you want to measure to, it gives the distance to nearest corner instead.
Our VARs´ workaround was to use dimension instead, but if you are in close distance to overlap, you might not notice that you are actually off.
