NX 8.5 Print to PDF

NX 8.5 Print to PDF

NX 8.5 Print to PDF

(OP)
Dear all,

Does anyone know if there is some software requirement for the "Print to PDF" functionality? Is Acrobat a requirement and does it need to be installed PRIOR to NX? I thought that NX came with a PDF printer module.
The problem I have is that in my knew NX8.5 installation I don't see the PDF printer in the Print dialog. I am able to export to PDF though but here I can't choose a PDF paper size for example...

Best regards,
Julian

RE: NX 8.5 Print to PDF

Q1, No NX does not contain a "print to pdf" and has never had. If you have seen it in the past, it was then a separate installation.
The Adobe install can/could be done before or after, it's a matter of defining a "virtual windows printer" that sends the print job to a pdf file instead of a physical printer. I have never tried any other software for this purpose than Adobe's.
Q2, NX does contain "export to pdf", which also sends the "...." to a pdf. Per default drawings get exported 1:1 since the scale factor is default 1.

Regards,
Tomas

Clear, thank you!
Yeah, wasn't talking about a specific "Print to PDF" function but rather that I saw PDF as a virtual printer in the print dialog. It is indeed the virtual one created by Adobe.
Best regards,
Julian
