Copy/Paste problems

Copy/Paste problems

Copy/Paste problems

(OP)
Has anybody come across a problem copying and pasting in Draftsight? If I copy some linework, it seems to paste something I had copied earlier and not the last thing I copied. If I switch to another draftsight file, it will then paste something else I had previously copied in that file (I really can't make sense out of what it decides to paste). I can't get it to paste what I last copied!! Extremely frustrating.

This has happened many times in the past, but just now I closed Draftsight and re-opened and things seem to behave properly (for now).

I take that back. If I want to copy from one file to another, it works once. If I want to copy something else from another file, I need to shut down DS and reopen everything, then copy the new item. Otherwise it will copy old stuff - it won't let me copy something new.

RE: Copy/Paste problems

It seems to be hit or miss. It will either let me copy/paste from one file to another, or it will occasionally give me an error. Still beats WBLOCKing everything.

RE: Copy/Paste problems

I have the same problem. Sometimes I can copy & paste 3 or 4 or 5 things OK, then it will start acting up. Other times I can only c & p once, then it messes up like you said.

RE: Copy/Paste problems

Annoying error that I'm experiencing myself. Closing and reopening is the only thing that helps.

RE: Copy/Paste problems

As part of reproducing some boat part templates from a table of measurements, I've been doing a lot of copying and pasting from the built-in calculator to the circle command.
Often enough to be really annoying, DS seems to pick a radius other than what I pasted to make the circle.
I.e., the paste operation, I swear, puts the right number on the command line, but the circle gets drawn with some other radius. Luckily, the error is typically huge, i.e. the circle is either half-ish or twice-ish the desired size.

At least I think the error is huge. I probably should go back over the drawing and recheck every damn dimension, in case the randomization is random.

RE: Copy/Paste problems

I had the same problem, but the new update fixes the issue.

RE: Copy/Paste problems

Ericsonbirdman - which version are you running that fixes the issue? I'm running v1r3.1 x64 and still have the problem.

For me, it started as an annoyance. I would just keep pasting until it cycled thru to the appropriate item. Took may 3 or 4 attempts. Now, it's gotten to the point it is actually combining previous clipboard items into one. I've restarted the application, rebooted the machine and am still experiencing the issue. Next step will be to reinstall.

RE: Copy/Paste problems

knov,
I have been using the new version (V1R3.1x64) since it came out, and have had no copy/paste issues with it so far.
It sounds like you have a new problem, because of the combining of the clipboard items.
