Making 1 part from 2 seperate parts

Making 1 part from 2 seperate parts

Making 1 part from 2 seperate parts

(OP)
Hi all,

I currently have 2 parts - 2 halves of a cycling helmet - that I need to make into one combined part. Is this possible? I have tried instancing the parts and merging them together. However this only allows me to merge them as a mesh. As this model needs to be exported to Simpleware to mesh on that with a head model I need a way around this.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jonny

RE: Making 1 part from 2 seperate parts

What format is the helmet in? Is it a CAD format? If so I am sure you could manipulate this in a CAD program to combine the parts together in an assembly.

In Abaqus, you could just create a tie constraint between the two helmets to lock them together if you can not find a way to combine the parts.
