What would I need to get into QC?

What would I need to get into QC?

What would I need to get into QC?

(OP)
Hi Guys,

got a bit of a problem. Just about to turn 60 and am finishing a BSEE. A while back finished a AAS in EET. Before that I worked 34 years as a statistician. Have BS and MS in mathematics and statistics. I retired, went back to school in the EE area because I love EE and hoped to work in the area. But no one will hire a 60 EE to intern. I've tried now for 19 months to get an entry level position but no luck. It's been suggested I try QC. Okay I have all the mathematics and statistics but know nothing about QC. How do people get into this area? Is there any chance I could find work in QC or would it just be another dead end.

thanks

Paul

RE: What would I need to get into QC?

If what you stated as background is correct, I would consider substitute teaching in math/science classes at a local elementary or high school and work-up from there.

Yes it's correct metengr. In order to substitute teach you have to be certified. I am not certified.

I believe, not for night school at a junior college.

You only need a bachelors or above to work as an interim (substitute) teacher. I did it for 4 years and not certified. The only issue is most times, unless it's a long term position, you fill in for whatever subject they need.

In regards to QC, there is a certification program at most vocational/technical colleges.
