Liebert CHW Control Valves

Liebert CHW Control Valves

(OP)
Does anyone know why CHW control valves of Liebert CRAC units are always installed on the supply CHW piping? They are typically A-Frame coils used. This has been common for what I've been seeing in the field. I would think if a control valve is on the supply side the water would just trickle thru and not fill the coil with CHW. Anyone have an explanation?

RE: Liebert CHW Control Valves

I had the same question about 2 years ago. We installed as per Liebert drawings and on a variable pumping system. I had asked and did not get a good answer. The valves take a large DP.
