Pro/E Creo2 export -> NX 7.5 import
Pro/E Creo2 export -> NX 7.5 import
(OP)
Hi,
a potential sub-supplier of ours is using Proe Creo2 and they make sheet metal parts. We on the other hand are using NX 7.5 and would like to STEP import their models into our design. Previously they had an older version of Proe and we were using NX 6.0. Currently the co-operation is facing a export/import breakage and our work is not progressing.
Do any of you have a working workflow for exporting sheet metal models from Proe Creo2 into NX 7.5? The preferred format is STEP but any other suitable format can be considered. Note that we want solid models for FEM purposes, not a bunch of separate bodies/surfaces (NX import "Sew surfaces automatically" did not work here, however it did improve the situation somewhat).

Thanks!

What version of Wildfire did you use to create the STEP file for NX7.5? What method did you use to open the Creo2 file in Wildfire, STEP, neutral, GCRI?

RE: Pro/E Creo2 export -> NX 7.5 import
as I wasn't present when they did all the exporting, I am unaware of exact versions. During the process we were quite sure it was indeed Creo2's STEP exporter that was causing the issues. This seems odd, since as you also mention, the STEP spec should not have changed.
However, we also tried importing their Creo2 STEP files into Ideas, and this quite surprisingly worked! But for NX 7.5, they needed to go through an older Proe..
