Customizing Menu

(OP)
I just installed 2013 on a new workstation. I'm customizing the menus. In 2012 when I
clicked on the sketch icon (to open a new sketch)there was a small arrow on the sketch icon
that had a small drop down menu that gave me an option to open a 2-D sketch, a 3-D sketch or
3-D sketch on a plane. In 2013, when I go to add the sketch icon... it seems like I have to
add those other options as separate icons, rather than have all 3 under a single icon with the drop
down menu option. Same thing for the various types of rectangles, slots.... etc. Is it possible to
include all the various options for the available entities (rectangle, slot, sketch, etc) under a single icon
to be on the menu?
thanks

Are you talking about the S key shortcut or the Command Manager?
Either way, right-click on either tool bar and select Customize > Commands > Flyout Toolbars and drag & drop the Sketch icon onto the toolbar.

BTW, in SW12 I only have Sketch or 3D Sketch as options in the drop down menu.

Thanks CBL.
I was grabbing the icons from the sketch toolbar and not the flyout toolbar once in the customize mode.
Your method worked. Thanks

RE: Customizing Menu

Or you could use the Copy Settings Wizzard deep in the SolidWorks Tools subfolder of the SolidWorks 20## directory. it's a lot easier then redoing your entire customizations.

Maybe soon the Flyout Icons will show last used operation like Flyout menus are supposed to behave the newer scetch flyouts for Arc Circle Rectangle work excellently.

If you haven't ever used the copy settings wizard look it up on the help.solidworks.com site. thumbsup2
