Criteria Plot

Criteria Plot

Criteria Plot

When I plot criteria stress values, I get maximum value labels on each element. Is there a way to plot average values?

I've been going through the different menues and can't find a way to do this.

Thank you,

W

RE: Criteria Plot

it seems reasonably obvious (IMHO) that "critical" stress would be the maximum stress on the element.

if you want element average, why not use that field ?

if you want to be sure about what's being plotted, look at the f06 file ... you'll see nodal stresses and element (average) stress.

RE: Criteria Plot

What I'm trying to do is to plot an area of my model displaying the avg stress on each element, similar to the view I get when from a criteria plot. I know what the numbers are, but I want to show this figure in my report.

I'm able to display avg stress but only on the most critical elements (max/min), I'd like to have this value on all elements of my model, again, similar to the view I get from a criteria plot.

Do you know a way to display this?

Thank you,

Ww

RE: Criteria Plot

i'm confused ...
you want element values ? that's what i get with "criteria view" (i think the contour plot shows only the extreme values)
and it looks like it's showing the element average stress ?

but if only some of the model is plotting, maybe you've got only some groups active ??

RE: Criteria Plot

Ok I think I'm confusing you.

I want the same as the criteria plot, but instead of showing max values (on elements) I want average values.

I hope this is more clear.

RE: Criteria Plot

that's what i get with a criteria plot ! (hence my confusion ?)

i had a contour plot, and clicked the criteria button and got element values ... ??

RE: Criteria Plot

(OP)
yes, but these values represent the "max" values of the output vector, I want to display "average" values.

RE: Criteria Plot

for me the contour plot shows 4 (nodal) values for an element, and the criteria shows something like an average value;
for a tpyical element i had nodal values between 11.9 ksi and 12.5 ksi, and an element value of 12.2 ksi
