Show a part hidden by another

(OP)
Hi

I have one big enclosure with lamps and other small stuff inside.
The lamps and stuff is in another part. Is there some ways that
i can show this on drawing in one view. Like se the stuff inside enclosure
with dashed lines.

I know that i can put the different parts in two different layers and make
two drawings views and put them above eachother but want to do this and only
use one view.

Thanks

Don't forget to specify what version of NX your are on.

RE: Show a part hidden by another

This question has a number of solutions, can you specify in more detail how you want the result to be ?

The simplest solution is Double click the view border, - tab: Hidden lines change Invisible -> Dashed and click OK.
I assume that this gives too many dashed objects, - ?

Another method is to ( note order here)double click the view border, Tab = hidden line, toggle the uppermost button "hidden line"= off. OK dialog.
select border of view, right click -View dependent edit..., then change the objects you desire to see dashed into dashed, ok the dialog
and finally turn on the hidden line again setting hidden lines = invisible.

There is a third and more complicated method also , called render sets, which we can discuss if the two above don't do the trick.

Regards,
Tomas
