In NX6 I used expressions like “1~200+1” or numbers separated by commas to set electrode foot dimensions and it worked great. I've tried to use it in NX8 and it looks like this doesn't work the way it should.
It seems the problem occurs only with block_blank.xls. Moldwizard standard part library works great

You're going to have to be a bit more detailed as to what you're attempting to do.

You say that you can't set an expression equal to 1~200+1. I don't wonder since I'm not aware of any support for the 'tilde' (~) character. And this goes for NX 6.0 as well.

Could you provide a sample of an NX 6.0 part file which expressions formatted as you've described above?

Hi John

Tilde character is used in excel spreadsheet to define number ranges.
e.g. 1~10+1 is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 , 1~10+2 is 1,3,5,7,9
It gives possibility to smoothly change to desired dimension using slider (attached image).
I’ve attached metric block_blank.prt and block_blank.xls as a sample.
You can also check moldwizad standard part library (e.g. …\MOLDWIZARD\standard\metric\dme\data\angle_pin.xls , PLATE_HEIGHT, SLIDE_HEIGHT).
Everything works great in NX6 but it doesn't work in NX8.

I'm sorry, but I don't see how the part file and the Excel files are related. Nowhere in the part file are there any expressions which appear to be dependent on the content of ANY cell of ANY spreadsheet.

To make this work copy block_blank.prt to ...\MOLDWIZARD\electrode\blank\metric\model and copy block_blank.xls to ...\MOLDWIZARD\electrode\blank\metric\data(attached image). Run electrode design ,initialize electrode project ,create electrode head and add electrode foot using Blank Design(in nx6 to edit electrode blank dimensions choose "Edit Blank" in "Blank Design" dialog). Do the same thing in NX8 to see the difference.

Like I said, I can't see how you're using the spreadsheet with the Part file. For the record, I've never used the MoldWizard so if this is specific to that application, someone else needs to jump in here.
