Part number as note or balloon

Part number as note or balloon

Part number as note or balloon

I'm doing a drawing in NX8, it's a large assembly, but i'm only doing a few simple assembly views to aid the fitters.
I don't have a parts list on the drawing, but i'd like to balloon, or text note with leader, to identify some of the parts.
Is there a way to do this without creating a dumb note?
I've tried relationships, and <W$@COMPONENT_NAME> without success

RE: Part number as note or balloon

A simple program could be written which would let you select a component, extract it's name and create your note/label in one step.

thanks John, Can you expand on this, do you mean a journal ? how could this be achived?

RE: Part number as note or balloon

If you can add a partslist somewhere you can then manually ballon the desired objects and finally set the callout from the partslist to be component_name.
Hm, i did not figure out how to make the "ballon" into "note" unless i used autoballon. But then you might find a way to isolate the named components in the partslist.
See attached image.
