What is the ASTM equivalent of EN WB36 or 15NiCuMoNb5-6-4 material?

RE: ASTM equivalent

A182 F36, A213 T36 or A335 P36

RE: ASTM equivalent

this is Ni-Mo Alloy Steels for Pressure Vessel Plates (steel no. 1.6368 , the equivelant : ASTM A 302/A 302M-03 grade D , ASTM A 533/A 533M-93 grade c

RE: ASTM equivalent

I deal with these grades and there is no A 213 Grade T36 or A335 Grade P36.

RE: ASTM equivalent

Mea culpa

RE: ASTM equivalent

I am not so sure I would call either the A302 D or A533 C as ASTM equivalents, at least in terms of composition. The ASTM alloys have too high Mn content (1.15 - 1.50 ASTM; 0.80 - 1.20 15NiCuMoNb5-6-4) and too low a nickel content (0.70 - 1.00 ASTM; 1.00 - 1.30 15NiCuMoNb5-6-4. However, mechanical properties may the the important factor. 15NiCuMoNb5-6-4 mechanical properties look like they can be met using ASTM A533 Class w (UTS: 620 - 795 MPa; Yield strength 485 MPa min; 16% minimum elongation). Note that strength classes are indepenent of composition grades in this spec. None of the ASTM A302 grades have sufficient yield strength to ensure the same mechanical properties as 15NiCuMoNb5-6-4.

RE: ASTM equivalent

Hi!
I am interested in the question opening this Post.

Regarding the given answers, do you have some source of information about the equivalent WB36 in the ASME code? or do you base your answers on experience?

In the Code Case 2353-1, mentioned spec. materials regarding 1.15Ni-0.65Cu-Mo-Cb are only SA-213 and SA-335. Unfortunately no concrete Type/Grade. Some Tips?

Thank you in adnvance.
