How Do Specify Foundation Trench for 36 ton Machine.

How Do Specify Foundation Trench for 36 ton Machine.

(OP)
Hello,
Would appreciate any input on design criteria for an isolation
foundation for heavy machine.

We are installing a 220 Ton Stamping press which weighs 36 Tons,
and are specifying a design to any support foundation that might
be required.

An old existing 26 Ton weight press has no extra foundation, and
has been no problem.

Many Thanks.

projectegr1000,

Usually the equipment manufacturer will have a recommended installation. This will include the foundation drawing with any isolation requirements to the surrounding pad. Your best path is to consult the press manufacturer.

No wind, but definitely seisnmic considerations here in the specifications depend on your locale...

You need to pull in a structural engineer here.
