IStructE Exam vs NCEES Structural Exam

IStructE Exam vs NCEES Structural Exam

IStructE Exam vs NCEES Structural Exam

(OP)
I am a structural engineer in British Columbia and I plan to become a Designated Structural Engineer (Struct. Eng.) in the future.
One of the requirements is to have successfully completed either the IStructE Exam or the NCEES Structural Exam.

Any advice on which exam to attempt?

I understand that one of the advantages of the IStructE Exam is that it is not specific to any one code.

RE: IStructE Exam vs NCEES Structural Exam

I don't know anything about the IStructE Exam, but if you took the NCEES Structural Exam, would that carry over for use in the USA? If so, that may influence my decision about which exam to take.
