Protective coating inside of Potable water tank

Protective coating inside of Potable water tank

Protective coating inside of Potable water tank

We have a water tank that stores water for plant process aswell as drinking purpose. the tank is rmajor repair.

We need to protect the inside of this tank and wish to use a good protective coating that would not affect the potable water quality also.

Please suggest is it allowed to apply protective coating inside of a drinking water tank? if not, what is the alternative??

No coal Tar inside potable water tank.

RE: Protective coating inside of Potable water tank

I would definitely NOT use coal tar inside a potable water tank!

Epoxies are common, 100% solids epoxies are preferable - I've had reports on some certified potable water epoxies which were installed in cold weather with poor ventilation. Notable water quality complaints (taste, odor) resulted.
