Femdesigner Software?

(OP)
I did a search and all threads on the topic are a year or more older. I was wondering if anyone out there uses FEMDesigner? http://www.femdesigner.com/

Have you found it to be accurate? What are some pros & cons that you've experienced?

Thanks!

RE: Femdesigner Software?

Having been using Alibre for a while, I was looking for an FEA package that also does thermal modelling. FEMdesigner can be used as an add-on to Alibre, so it was an obvious choice. It is still fairly new and still being developed. I found it only worked with a 64 bit version of Windows (I was using Windows 7) and a 32 bit version of Alibre.
It does the thermal analysis work I wanted. As with all FEA software, it is essential to get the boundary conditions right. I am still getting to grips with the stress analysis side.
It is fairly straightforward to use, although it is not very responsive. It produces nice pictures.
