Infinite medium boundary conditions ABAQUS/CAE.

Hi Everyone,

I am simulating a rectangular inclusion in a semi-infinite space having a different mechanical properties. I take a large Cuboidal (3D) slab of the semi-infinite material. I create an extrusion on its surface with a certain depth and then fill it with another smaller cuboidal slab of equivalent shape (of the extrusion) but of a different material. In assembly, I use merge geometry to put them together. The smaller cuboidal structure is the inclusion. I am interested in the thermal stresses (due to CTE mismatch) in the outer material which is semi-infinite. My question is what boundary conditions should I apply and how on the outer material so as to mimic its infinite size? I am using ABAQUS/CAE version 12. Please let me know your suggestions.
