(OP)
I have a small Flammable Storage (50m2) with Paint Spray booth beside. What Fire protection is required for such small place. Does any code permit me to use Clean Agent System or Carbon dioxide system in this small area. Please suggest me the code requirements.

RE: Fire Protection in small Flammable Storage?

I believe NFPA 33 will be your guide for this project.

RE: Fire Protection in small Flammable Storage?

Does the local authority have a building or fire code adopted???

1. Depends on the chemicals, quantities, and classification

2. Suggest fire sprinkler system or dry chem system

RE: Fire Protection in small Flammable Storage?

What is the volume of flammable and combustible liquids? How is this material stored--- shelves, floor piles...? Is the 50m2 the floor size of the storage area?

Chicopee..Yes the material is stored in shelves and 50m2 is the floor size of the storage area. I am not sure about the quantity of the flammable liquid. Even if I assume that the Flammable liquids are more in quantity, Is there any code to provide Clean Agent system. Actually I dont want provide Sprinkler system in such small area. Please Help.

RE: Fire Protection in small Flammable Storage?

for this application you need sprinklers or dry chem

FIRST you need to know what chemicals you are dealing with and quantities, to properly protect them

RE: Fire Protection in small Flammable Storage?

You need to review NFPA 30, Chapter 16 before you start considering clean agent as a viable fire protection option.

Good luck.

RE: Fire Protection in small Flammable Storage?

Well our paint storage area was about 1700 sq.ft. and we had a hydraulically calculated sprinkler system. We had no need for in rack sprinkler because the sheves were made of heavy gage wire eventho some of the racks had 4 levels of shelving.
"...with Paint Spray booth beside. What..." is the spray painting booth inside the room?
