"WAVE control license" question

"WAVE control license" question

"WAVE control license" question

(OP)
Hello all,

System info: NX 7.5 / Windows 7.5.5.4

I believe I have run into a situation where it would be nice to have positionally independent WAVE linking. I have a sub-assembly that is positioned with an angular constraint in a higher assembly. This allows me to "move" my sub-assembly into different positions by adjusting that angular constraint.

The problem is that when I link parts from the higher-up assembly at say, position X and then I adjust the position of my sub-assembly into position Y - the linked parts stay in position X while my repositioned sub-assembly is at position Y.

So I examine the WAVE information of the linked part and I see that it says "Status: Up to Date (Position Dependent)"

Questions (3):
1: Is there a way to make a wave link position independent?
2: Do I need a WAVE control license to accomplish this?
3: What is the best way around this problem (without a WAVE control license) and without breaking links?

Best regards,
asdFletcher
