Error during static analysis

(OP)
Hi all,

I am doing static analysis of planetary gear system. i ran the job but it shows the following error -

SUMMARY OF JOB INFORMATION:
STEP INC ATT SEVERE EQUIL TOTAL TOTAL STEP INC OF DOF IF
DISCON ITERS ITERS TIME/ TIME/LPF TIME/LPF MONITOR RIKS
ITERS FREQ

1 1 5U 1 0 1 0.00 0.00 0.0001953

THE ANALYSIS HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED
(this is .sta file)

and the error it shows in .msg file is -

***ERROR: TOO MANY ATTEMPTS MADE FOR THIS INCREMENT

can anyone please tell me what would be the cause of this error?
I verified the mesh and bopundary conditions, but these are correct. so I couldn#t find the cause.

Thank you in advance!!

RE: Error during static analysis

This could be happening for a number of reasons, do you have any parts in contact?

RE: Error during static analysis

In all probability, some obvious oversight is preventing the solver from converging to even a single increment. As yaston4 has alluded to, the error message is a symptom, not the cause. Go to Job Diagnostics (if you don't know about it, check the CAE Manual) see what kind of warnings are enlisted. You should also check .msg and .dat files for warning and error messages. FYI, if there are any numerical singularities, that means the model or node(s)/part(s)/instance(s)/ is (are) free to translate along or rotate about an axis.
