Ignore line filter for SCCR?

Ignore line filter for SCCR?

Ignore line filter for SCCR?

(OP)
It's very rare when I'm asked to determine the SCCR (Short Circuit Current Rating) of one of our systems, but it does happen from time to time. AND it's been a while since I attended my UL508 class. I could have sworn that line filters are exempt when determining the SCCR. I checked my UL508A book under SB4.2.1, would a line filter be considered a "reactor"?

RE: Ignore line filter for SCCR?

Almost always a series inductance (a reactor, i.e.) involved. And then some capacitors. Why should you exempt it? Then again, I'm not in UL land.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.
