question about corrosion and dissimilar metals

question about corrosion and dissimilar metals

(OP)
What are the rules for connecting aluminum structures to structural steel? Are there any good references online with the rules simply stated? We have an exterior aluminum platform on the roof of a building. It connects to and is supported by structural steel framing. The connections are bolted. Will painting the steel prevent direct contact between the dissimilar metals? What kind of fasteners should be used to bolt the aluminum framing to the strucutral steel supports?

RE: question about corrosion and dissimilar metals

RE: question about corrosion and dissimilar metals
