Datum Axes in Instances

Datum Axes in Instances

Can anybody tell me how to get a Datum Axis created, named, and set in the generic to show up as the renamed axis (-B- instead of -A_ in the instance?

RE: Datum Axes in Instances

The datum name is part of the feature, so you may not be able to change it from instance to instance. Much like the Feature ID and #.

RE: Datum Axes in Instances

Perhaps I should clarify the problem I have.  I, successfully, modified the name of the Datum Axis from A_8 to B in the generic model.  I, then, set the datum axis as a GTOL datum and placed it in the dimension which defines the hole surrounding the axis.

It shows properly in the generic when I "SHOW" the dimension.  The two instances I created in the FAMILY TABLE, however, still show A_8 as the axis name and Pro doesn't seem to allow the name to be changed in the instance.  The option "NAME" is grayed out.  I can set the axis A_8 in the instance but it shows, of course, -A_8-.

Thanks for your attention.
