Best way to transfer drawing from AutoCad to Catia V5?

(OP)
Hello!
I am trying to transfer drawings from AutoCad to Catia V5 through dxf or dwg but the drawings are all messed up when opened in Catia.
Is there a better way to do this?
I'm thinking of opening the dxf in autocad and export it to another file-format that Catia can understand better.

RE: Best way to transfer drawing from AutoCad to Catia V5?

Hi Ryden,

DXF is was the accepted way to do it as far as I know for drawing files. How is it messed up can you be a little more specific?

Catia has an xml file (dxf.xml) that allows you to customize how Catia imports the file. All the standards are set in the Tools/Standards pulldown menu then switch the standard view to DXF to see all of the parameters you can set to bring the dxf file in the way you would like it to import.

HTH,

Dan
