Inspection note-custom symbol

Hi I'm trying to create a custom symbol that will have partial editable text. See the attached image. The symbol will be added to critical dimensions and the numbering will increase with each symbol insertion. The note on the left is placed next to the title block and the number increases to the the number of inspection points added to the assembly/part drawing. Only way I found so far is by smashing the symbol or I found a older posting that tied it to an attribute but each symbol needs its own number. I'm running NX 6.0.5.3.

RE: Inspection note-custom symbol

Is the question "How to make a custom symbol with editable text?" or "How to make the symbol text increment by 1 for each new symbol?"?

Both. The initial question was how to increment by 1 for each new symbol. But now I am told some numbers will be 4-7 for the measurement to be taken in 4 places around the diameter. This would have to be editable. I can't think of how to make this incremental. But for some drawings and just for my own personal knowledge editable text would be nice. I found some posting that talked about variables and editing in "properties" but this would all be the same and not what we need.
