High pressure on/off-valve with little operating force????

High pressure on/off-valve with little operating force????

High pressure on/off-valve with little operating force????

(OP)

Hi there!

I am wondering if any of you know if there are any clever designs on valves so that you minimise the operating force. The valve is a NC on/off-valve and should have very quick opening/closing time (i.e. no turning movement).

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,
Joakim

RE: High pressure on/off-valve with little operating force????

Need more information, what size valve are you in need of?
Would a standard solenoid valve work for you? Not sure what you mean by low force..?

RE: High pressure on/off-valve with little operating force????

As above, what size and what is high pressure. Whitey has some very slick 1/2" 3000 psi electric solenoid actuated valves.

In general spool type valves will require little operating force, as they are pressure balanced by design.  This is why they are used in hydraulic systems.

Try Mokveld. If the valve is of large diameter f.e. 24" 2500# to name one, there are not a lot of valves that will still have low operating forces. Unless the valve has a technology to compensate the differential pressure. A mokveld valve will offer you this as it is pressure balanced. At the same time this model of valve (Axial Flow) will give short stroking times and bi-directional sealing.
That is why somany engineers prefer them on ESD and HIPPS functions.

Suitable designs can be arrived at,but requires more details of the valve size, medium of flow and connected equipmets at the upstream and downstream sides.(Water hammer problems could be severe if the closing time is really short).
