Copper to Aluminium cable splicer

(OP)
Hi,

Someone wants to connect an HV copper cable to an HV aluminium cable and is asking if there is an amalgamated junction box that can be used for this purpose without corroding the cables on the long run. If you know of such connector can you please propose a make/model?

Many thanks.

RE: Copper to Aluminium cable splicer

The joint/splice kit that you use will be primarily determined by the cable physical size and operating voltage, and a choice of heatshrink or cold shrink technology. The connectors are frequently supplied with the kit and these days tend to be range taking and compatible with both aluminium and copper conductors.

RE: Copper to Aluminium cable splicer

I previously worked for a connnector manufacturer (Sicame) and Marmite made good points. Any of those recommended by Marmite would do the job.
