Centrifugal vs PD Blower

Centrifugal vs PD Blower

Centrifugal vs PD Blower

(OP)
I am investigating a means to pressurise 3000m3/hr (~1500cfm) of a 75%CO2 25%air mixture from 0KPag to 70KPag (~10psig).

I seem to have a choice of a positive displacement (roots) blower or  a centrifugal fan.

Can anyone suggest the better alternative & why.

RE: Centrifugal vs PD Blower

Have a look at "Expression for the maximum efficiency of a Roots air compressor" Driver, RW. Proceedings IMechE vol200 No. A2
