Section 1 ITP

Section 1 ITP

Section 1 ITP

(OP)
My company has been awarded the assembly of ASME Sec 1 OTSG I have submitted ITP to the local AI. AI has rejected the ITP @ this. looking for a sample ITP so I can compare Please note: this is the first OTSG assembly my company has undertaken.

RE: Section 1 ITP

Why was the ITP rejected? Fix the original plan.

RE: Section 1 ITP

GemmellG,
As metengr has stated - why was it rejected.
It should have come back with a comments sheet or comments marked directly on the ITP for you to correct.
Edit: If it is really bad the person reviewing may just reject out of hand and not make comments.
ITPs are proprietary company documentation so you will be hard pressed to get anyone to supply you with a sample.
Google ITPs and you may find information on preparing an ITP - it is much too involved to list requirements on here.
I regularly review ITPs for everything from structural to piping to tanks and they can vary from 1 page to 25 pages - it is the individual company who decides how comprehensive (or not) their ITP is,
Regards,
Kiwi

RE: Section 1 ITP

Refer to Practical Guide to Pressure Vessel Manufacturing by Sunil Kumar Pullarcot chapter 19 where he shows 23 steps over 2 pages.

This book is available through many organization's e-library. Pretty good reference.
