Normal Measure in CATpart from planar surface

Normal Measure in CATpart from planar surface

Normal Measure in CATpart from planar surface

(OP)
I am switching from Proe & Solidworks to V5. A very basic question. How to measure the normal distance (not min/max) between a planar surface and another feature within a CATPart? The simplest example would be measuring the normal distance between the top planar surfaces of 2 pads of different heights produced from the same solid surface. Example a padded 7mm thick washer feature with OD/ID 50/30 inside this is a solid pad 12mm square and height 2mm. Normal distance 5mm. Catia measures 8.212 (min distance). Part constructed with Multipad feature. See attached file. thx

RE: Normal Measure in CATpart from planar surface

Selection 1 and or 2 mode, switch to any geometry infinite instead of surface only.
