Hi,

i need to work on a drawing that as been separated in 3 since the file was to big.
i'm trying to reduce the files sizes so i can make it one drawing again.

is there any way to "purge" or "delete useless element" in catdrawing????

i already done Q-checker and Catdua, reduzing the size from 115k to 95k.

any other way, macros, tools that i dont know?

thanks for any help!

SORRY winky smile

pls tell me their is something else i can do !

RE: catdrawing file size

Sorry, I realized late that you run CATDUAV5.

Probably you have a lot of links with 3D, maybe also 2D components, hatches or other elements like those ones. But...are you taking about Mb or kb ? Because what you consider to be so big should be Mb...

Did you tried a save as (new name) just to see what is going on? Or copy-paste the views in a new drawing and then save?

Unfortunately I don't know if you have other options.

Fernando

Hi Ferdo,

Probably you have a lot of links with 3D
yes, but my compagny limitation enable me to break them by any means, even those corrupted ones.

maybe also 2D components,

I've try many combination with those (expose/explode)

hatches or other elements like those ones.
what???

But...are you taking about Mb or kb ? Because what you consider to be so big should be Mb...

dwg was originaly 700,000 kb, had to be divided in 3 dwg size the dwg was superior to 200,000kb , witch is my compagny limitation for one dwg

I've been succefull so far to reduce one of those ( from 135,000 kb to 95,000 kb), but still need some work

tks again for any help
