Shiny surface like Xbox case

Shiny surface like Xbox case

(OP)
I'm wondering what makes it so smooth and shiny on the Xbox plastic case? I see my TP-Link router has the same kind of finishing but in white color.
After the plastic part get out of the molding machine, what procedure needs to be done in order to get that smooth and shiny effect?
If not too expensive, I see if I can use this treatment on my product. Thanks

RE: Shiny surface like Xbox case

I doubt there is any secondary process. They come out of the mold like that.

RE: Shiny surface like Xbox case

Polished mold surface = polished parts coming out of the mold
Rough mold surface = rough parts coming out of the mold
All sorts of patterns/textures can be applied to a molds surfaces to achieve whatever finish you like..

Thank you for your help. I will talk to the mold company to make the shiny plastic surface.

What kind of the plastic should be use for that shiny surface. I am making a device for indoor usage and now designing the plastic case. THanks
