Rectangle function problem.. - nx6

Rectangle function problem.. - nx6

Rectangle function problem.. - nx6

(OP)
Hi Guys,
I have a strange question. I have been using the simple 'rectangle function' (by 2 points in sketch mode) in a number of different drawings without problem. I create my rectangle and then position it. Funny thing is I opened up another drawing, went into sketch mode and was making a rectangle but this time the rectangle was made but would not 'stick together' i.e if I tried to move it by setting inferred dimensions or dragging a side it comes apart i.e. that side moves but not the rest of the rectangle. Does anyone know why this might be?

many thanks,
James

RE: Rectangle function problem.. - nx6

Hi James,

Probably in the other part, the "Create Inferred Constraint" was disabbled.
Can you verify this?

Kind regards,
Pascal

Hi Pascal,
exactly correct. I enabled 'create inferred constraint' after I had selected the 'rectangle' function and it works as expected. Strange that I have never had to explicitly do that before?

I now have further (although still small) understanding of how this great application functions..

thanks for the help!

cheers,
James
